City Promotion Strategy

As a city of manufacturing, Kawasaki had successfully supported the rapid growth of Japanese economy in the past. Today, the city is further evolving into an international city of advanced industry where many world-renowned high-tech firms and research and development institutions reside.

The geographical advantage of being right adjacent to Tokyo and convenient transportation links that Kawasaki enjoys have encouraged the further development of attractive commercial centers as well as quality residential areas, making the city a pleasant and comfortable place to live.

However, Kawasaki's diverse features, including its ease of living, concentration of advanced industries, arts and cultural offerings such as the MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall, and abundant natural settings, are not well known to many outside the city and the sad truth is that Kawasaki still holds an unfavorable image among many people today.

To improve its image, the city recognizes that a strategic approach to city promotion is required and thus has formulated the Kawasaki City Promotion Strategic Plan in March 2005 to serve as the basic guidelines to the city's image promotion.

In creating a unique and charming community, the City of Kawasaki is devoted to working with both citizens and the private sector on promoting its image as well as the city brand, and asks for everyone's kind understanding and cooperation.
