Sports in Kawasaki

Sports in Kawasaki are very popular. Many residents participate in the Run Festa and Canoe Competition held along the Tama River. In addition to the many existing sporting events, top athletes and teams are working with local residents to develop the city as Kawasaki Hometown Sports Promotion Partners.

Kawasaki is the place for sports fans to enjoy national-level sports games locally, including soccer J League games at the Todoroki Athletics Stadium; women's volleyball V League, men's basketball Super League, and women's basketball W League games at the Todoroki Arena; and the American football X League games at the Kawasaki Stadium.

In addition, the National High School Bowling Championship is held annually in Kawasaki. What is more, it has been decided that Kawasaki will play host to the 3rd American Football World Cup this year.
