Higahi-Ogishima East Park

The Higashi-Ogishima East Park is being built at one of the country’s essential wide-area evacuation centers and this park was just opened in the spring of 2008. The park will serve as a staging ground for foreign aid and staff in the event of a major earthquake disaster in the Tokyo metropolitan area, a relay point for relief supplies, and a campsite for activities staff.
During normal times it will serve as a valuable green area at the port that is open to the public. The park features an artificial beach (the first in the city) where people can interact with nature and play, a multipurpose plaza, a barbecue area for friends and family, a dog run, and other facilities.
