At
a press conference held on February 23rd 2007 the World Cup
Organizing Committee officially announced team groupings and match-ups, the
date for ticket sales, and the selection of players for the Japanese national
squad.
The
long awaited team groupings include two-time defending champion Japan eager for
its third consecutive victory paired with Sweden and France in Group 1, and
newcomer the United States facing off with Germany and South Korea in Group 2.
The tournament gets underway on July 7th with Japan taking on the France.

Tickets went on sale on
February 24th. For more information regarding ticket sales please refer
to the IFAF official website.
143 football players from all walks of life were invited to participate
in the Japanese national team training camp where they will take part in
practices and exhibition games. In the end, 45 players will make the final
roster cut and represent Japan as the national team for the 2007 World
Cup of American Football. |
