| Neighboring both Tokyo and Yokohama, the city fosters a competitive industrial region that makes full use of an area rich with several R&D centers and universities. Policies are being pursued which will create and promote new world-class industries that will harmonize the welfare and the environmental sectors while utilizing accomplishments in scientific technology. The vitalization of industries within the city are facilitated by the enticement of corporations and Asian venture businesses, as well as the promotion of new business creation along with the alliance of operations and technology.
Aiming to create an active city, Kawasaki strives to develop local headquarters and traffic networks within the city, in addition to establishing a regional traffic network for the Tokyo metropolitan area. Furthermore, in order to promote the enhancement of cornerstone industries in the Kawasaki Coastal Area, the city promotes effective land utilization and measures for the "Kanagawaguchi Plan" to create a strategic base in the coastal area. Kawasaki strives to revitalize industries through the effective utilization of its characteristics, including the promotion of regional commerce, establishing a foundation for agricultural businesses, and promoting mid- and small-sized companies. In order to promote policies for workers, the city works on the creation of a system to utilize human resources in the region and hand down excellent technology and product-crafting techniques to the next generation. |
