Kawasaki's Seven Adminisrds

NakaharaWard

Where Water, Greenery, Flowers, and People Meet

Nakahara Ward, located approximately in the center of the city, consists primarily of flat lands and a wide array of natural surroundings, such as the rows of flowering Japanese cherry trees located along the Tama River and Nikaryosui Canal. Also, the Odanaka district is well known for its cultivation of pansy flowers.

Additionally, the home field of the Kawasaki Frontale, the city's professional soccer team, Todoroki Arena is located in the ward's largest park, Todoroki Park, where many avid fans come to support the team.

In contrast, the JR Nambu line has attracted a number of prominent high technology companies. Currently, redevelopment projects are underway in the Kosugi station area. In several years' time, in addition to urban housing and commercial businesses as well as a civic hall and public library, a new station will be constructed on the Yokosuka line, giving birth to a vastly new townscape.

Todoroki Park is proud of its many cultural and recreational offerings. A number of public accessible sporting facilities in the park include the hardball field, tennis court, soccer field, swimming pool, and Todoroki Arena, the home field of the Kawasaki Frontale. In addition, residents may also enjoy the fishing pond and nature trail as well as the Kawasaki City Museum, Japanese Garden and Four Seasons Garden that all can be found in Todoroki Park.
