1) Discounts for New Liner Services
When shipping companies launch new liner services calling the Port
of Kawasaki their port entry fees as well as mooring quay and gantry
crane user fees will be cut by 50 percent for the first three years. When
the first vessels in such services make a maiden call at Kawasaki, 100
percent discounts will be applied.
2) Regular Discounts
A volume-based incentive system is available for liner services that were
commenced three or more years ago, under which their port entry fees as
well as mooring quay and gantry user fees will be reduced according throughput(the
combined volume-in terms of TEU-of containerized shipments they load and
unload)per vessel. Discount rates described in the following tables, whichever
is greater, are applied, making the incentive system even effective for
small commercial vessels.
a) Discount Rates According to Throughput(TEU)
Throughput,Discount Rate
100-299TEUs, 3/12(25 percent)
300-599TEUs, 4/12(33.3 percent)
600-999TEUs, 5/12(41.6 percent)
1000TEUor more, 6/12(50 percent)
