What to Do if You are Afflicted with Sudden Illness/Serious Injury

Dial 119 to call an ambulance in case of an emergency illness or serious injury.
If the injury or illness is not severe and you can get to the hospital on your own, do not call an ambulance. Instead, go by car or taxi.
There is no charge for using an ambulance. Be sure to inform the operator of the following.

  • Indicate that the situation is an emergency.
  • Indicate that you or another person is seriously ill (or seriously injured).
  • The name of the person who is ill or injured.
  • The address and telephone number.
