Promotion of the creation of an attractive town full of vitality

The Nakahara Ward, located approximately in the center of the city, consists primarily of flat lands. The Ida area is blessed with abundant nature, such as green hills, rows of cherry blossom trees along the Tamagawa River and the Nikaryo Aqueduct. The Shimokodanaka area is famous for the production of pansies, which are the symbolic flower of the ward. Todoroki Athletics Stadium, the home ground of Kawasaki Frontale professional soccer team in the J1 League, is situated in Todoroki Ryokuchi Park and draws supporters from within and outside of the city. In addition, the Kawasaki City Museum, the Todoroki Arena and other attractions are located in the ward, making it the center of culture, sports, and recreation in the city.
In the meantime, a new town is being created around Musashi-Kosugi Station, under an urban district redevelopment project aimed at the formation of an extensive city center. JR Musashi-Kosugi Station on the Yokosuka Line began operations in March 2010, and the area’s civic functions have been further upgraded.

Every year in spring, the area is full of pansies, which are the symbol of the ward.
