Asia-Pacific Eco-Business Forum (From 2005)

The Asia-Pacific Eco-Business Forum began as a forum for promoting the exchange of information on advanced initiatives and cooperation between participating cities using the environmental technology and information accumulated in Kawasaki City as a basis. The advancement of environmental technology transfer to the countries of participants is achieved by getting the latest environmental information through the sessions and on-site visits.

9th Asia-Pacific Eco-Business Forum in Kawasaki

City of Kawasaki, based on its experience in the efforts to reduce pollution and excellent environmental technology accumulated through them, has been promoting international contributions for the cities of developing countries to built sustainable urban model of environmental and industrial harmony. As a venue for sharing information regarding cutting-edge environmental technologies and promoting collaboration among participating cities, the 9th Asia-Pacific Eco-Business Forum will be held concurrently with the Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair 2013 again.

●Date:     January 30th (Wednesday)  to  January 31th (Thursday), 2013 

             (The Eco-Tech Fair will be held from February 1st to 2nd)

●Venue:   Conference Room 3, 9th floor, Institute of Industrial Promotion Kawasaki

           (66-20, Horikawa-cho, Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki City, kanagawa Prefecture, Japan)

●Access:  8 minute walk from JR Kawasaki Station,8 minute walk from Keikyu Kawasaki Station. Using the train or bus is highly recommended.

UNEP Eco-Town Project

UNEP IETC undertakes the development of Eco-Towns in the Asia-Pacific region to promote sending out of information related to environmentally sound technologies (EST) and transfer technologies.
Kawasaki City cooperates with this project by providing assistance for project conferences attended by Eco-Town participants so that the experience accumulated by Kawasaki Eco-Town can be used to create other Eco-Towns in developing countries. To date, sessions have been held in a wide range of formats ranging from training courses to workshops for official and business personnel from Penang in Malaysia, Bandung in Indonesia, Da Nang in Vietnam and Mumbai in India using materials from Kawasaki Eco-Town.
